Cashier

Cashiers at The Chinook make $15 per hour plus a share of tips.

A Cashier’s primary role is to assist customers in the in-store check-out process. Main duties include ringing up sales, communicating with the customers, communicating with co-workers, collecting payment, and giving appropriate change. The Chinook at Terry Bison Ranch in Cheyenne, WY is looking for experienced cashiers to join our team this summer’s concert season. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, a good teammate, and hard-working. Cashiers at The Chinook will be required to wear masks and/or facial coverings while serving customers and required to provide a TIPS certification or complete a simple 60 minute TIPS certification course before their first shift.

 

A cashier is responsible for counting the contents of cash register drawer at the end of each shift, maintaining receipts, records and withdrawals. Works under immediate supervision of supervisor or manager and must rely on instructions. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Abides by pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. The successful candidate will play a fundamental role in achieving our customer satisfaction and customer service expectations.

 

Responsibilities:

• Handle cash and credit card transactions with customers
• Ring in goods and collect payments onto our POS system
• Ensure pricing is correct
• Issue change, receipts, refunds, or tickets
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
• Make sales referrals, cross-sell products and introduce new ones
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
• Greet customers when entering or leaving establishment
• Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
• Answer customers’ questions and get a manager if answer doesn’t solve the issue
• Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure satisfaction
